Rock Around The Block is a reality show where two families reveal whether a lifetime of lip-synching and air-guitar equals actual musical talent! Each family has 48-hours to learn to sing a song chosen for them by the opposing family. With the help of vocal coaches, choreographers and stylists, the family that puts together the best look, sound and moves wins a cash prize. But will the generations be able to merge their differing musical tastes? Can the kids overcome their embarrassment at dad throwing a few groovy shapes (from a previous century?) And is mum really lead singer material? At the end of the 48-hours each family must perform live at a huge street party as neighbours and friends vote for the winning family.

Our five fabulous remakers who are on hand to help trasform our suburban families are:

ERIK RUDY stylist to the stars and hot from Hollywood. He's got just the contents of the families (very limited!) wardrobes to work with.

KIM CHANDLER singing coach who's flexed her vocal cords with the likes of Natalie Cole and Brits boyband sensation Westlife.

RACHEL WOOD Make-up artist who makes the top models like Erin O'Connor look gorgeous she's got her work cut out with these families!

KAZ GAMBLE the laid-back rapper from LA who's worked with the Wu Tang Clan and new soul star Joss Stone. Can he really teach the Brits what hip hop's all about?

PAULETTE MINOTT choreographer whose whose clients include top Brit girl bands Mis-teeq and Sugababes.

#1 The Miller family get rapping with Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back whilst their friends the Mitrovics get a dose of 80s retro glam with the B52s and Love Shack.

#2 Prepare for the battle of the dads as the Charles family find themselves on Hammer time with U Can't Touch This and the Billitteris go O.T.T with the Outkast hit Hey Ya.

#3 Girlpower finds an outlet as the Shah family tell what they really, really want with the Spice Girls Wannabe whilst the Rowans learn to Walk Like an Egyptian.

#4 The Fisher family wow the crowds with Robbie Williams Rock DJ whilst theit close friends the Craggs get street with Avril Lavigne's Sk8er Boi.

#5 The Adams family learn to move with the Latin smoothness of Ricky Martin when they get Livin' La Vida Loca and the Swains get a dose of Madness with Baggy Trousers.

#6 Rap versus Rock as the O'Boyles get to grips with Pink's Get This Party Started and the Lottaris funk it up with the Black Eyed Peas Let's Get it Started.
