My big brother, the Honorable David Campbell, D-Nashua (the man in the blue suit, leaning against the back wall), was part of the coalition that defeated the bill to overturn same-sex unions in the state of New Hampshire. The vote was a resounding 116-211 in favor of gay marriage… which is especially noteworthy in this Republican-controlled legislature. As Alexis Mateo would say, “BAM!” I was born and raised in New Hampshire and am thrilled that, once again, Yankee common sense has overruled prejudice, ignorance, and hate.
