As someone who’s seen every episode of the original series, James assigned me the unenviable task of reviewing the trailer for the new Sex and the City prequel. I can’t remember what they’re calling it and I don’t care. Here’s my twitter-friendly, 140-characters-or-less review, in angry, shouty ALL CAPS:

HORRID HORRID HORRID. THE JOY OF THE HBO SERIES WAS THE FRANK DEPICTION OF SEX. THE CW GIVES US “HOTDOG IN A KEYHOLE.” TWICE. WHERE THE FUCK IS SAMANTHA?

Goats in Coats

Part II of a series, in which I analyze the consumer trends of street goats from a series of photographs taken in Old Delhi, India.

Do we classify this a “pant” if the goat walks on the appendage in question? Whatever the terminology, subject’s colonial yellow turn-ups strike an unsettling below-the-knee / above-the-ankle line, which while enhancing subject’s trim little ankles, simultaneously beg the question: WHAT IS THIS GARMENT? That said, SO on-trend with the hessian sack cloth.

CONCLUSION: 5 out of 10. Points scored for (intentional?) matching of yellow turn-ups with eyes. Points deducted for ambiguous length, possibly leading casual observer to the conclusion that this is, god forbid, a CAPRI PANT.

Goats in Coats

A recurring feature, in which I analyze the consumer trends of street goats from a series of photographs taken in Old Delhi, India.

This goat is favoring a Double Hoody look, with strong Abercrombie & Fitch high street influence. Note the sleeve turn-up in contrasting color – perhaps indicating that the popular “Dalston roll” has its early origin in the back streets of Old Delhi?

CONCLUSION: 6 out of 10 for the on-trend contrasting sleeve turn-up. Points lost for inconsistency and failing to fully capture the potential of said trend. TWO turn-ups would have been nice. It’s not like I’m asking for FOUR.

Typically, James St James is the one on this blog writing about the eccentric styles of New York older ladies (such as Iris Apfel), but I haven’t even dared show him this clip yet for fear he might have some kind of wild-eyed, frothy-mouthed fit at all the biddy chic fashions on display.

The clip is an extended trailer for the Advanced Style documentary, coming summer 2012. A part of me is somewhat surprised that James was not invited to be IN this documentary… or is that him in the delicious red and black outfit? (t/y Marsha)
