I know some folks were hating on the idea of there being a new adaptation of the Fitzgerald classic. But I say they need hate no more because this trailer is really the cat’s pajamas. Yes, I just said that. Seriously though, one look at this trailer and you’ll be clicking play again…and again. Mind you it does feel like a Baz Luhrmann movie, but that’s a GOOD thing. You know what you’re getting when you walk into a Baz Luhrmann flick: Plenty of spectacle balanced with characters you want to follow and care about. Not many filmmakers can pull that off and that’s what Mr Luhrmann does best. The only detractor is that it’s in 3D. Not a fan. The Great Gatsby is due out in theaters this Christmas.

Or an awkward reading at least for Avengers star Chris Hemsworth who didn’t seem all too comfortable with reciting the erotic prose from the bestselling novel. From what I’ve heard the book is full of BDSM and other nice things. Nothing too outlandish. But still, Mr Hemsworth left it to his Snow White and the Hunstman co-stars to do most of the work. And they did it with great zeal. Well, at least Charlize did anyway. Snow White and the Hunstman hits theaters worldwide June 1. (via MTV)

Though the trailer looks amazing, the main reason I’m seeing Skyfall is for Javier Bardem who happens to be playing the latest Bond villain. I’m sure we all remember his iconic turn as psychopathic hitman Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men. Not afraid to say it’s one of the greatest screen performances EVER. Anyway, the trailer offers little clues as to what the story’s about. But rumors suggest that Dame Judi Dench’s character, M, has secrets from her checkered past that are coming back to bite everyone in the ass. Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig and directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes, is due out in theaters November 9.

A Lithuanian photographer by the name of Tadao Cern produced this wonderful series of people simply getting their faces blasted by powerful gusts of wind. I think it’s safe to say that Mr Cern found a way to suck the coolness right out of you no matter how good-looking you think you are. Brilliant. (via 1o9)
