Two men in a South Carolina McDonald’s parking lot approached a young woman and showed her a FedEx box that allegedly contained an iPad and offered to sell it to her for $300. A steal, but since she had only $180 on her, they let her have it for that unbelievably low price. And unbelievable it was; of course, when she got home, she discovered she had bought a block of wood with a screen painted on the front and the Apple logo painted on the back. Actually, it’s a pretty nifty bit of graffiti-style art, so not all is lost, but we’re wondering what part of “two men in a McDonald’s parking lot” didn’t set off signals that maybe everything wasn’t on the up-and-up.
