The NY Post‘s Liz Smith says that David Beckham is serious about becoming a U.S. star and is now being handled by big deal LA rep Paul Bloch. But she didn’t like his VF cover and she’s already annoyed that she has to confront Beckham everytime she turns around or looks at a “hot” list. But she’ll still offer him up as dish, bless her. She says the England soccer captain wants to “channel” his idol Johnny Depp, but it sounds to me more like he has a crush on him. It was Beckham who bought Depp’s underpants for $3,000 when they were auctioned at a recent charity event in London. And a friend of Beckham and his wife, Victoria, says that Depp’s delicates are framed and hanging in their bedroom. No word on whether Beckham tried on the panties first or if they were clean or dirty and I know that’s what you were thinking so don’t deny it.

Victoria used to be a Spice Girl. Maybe she figures if David can live with that, she can accept Depp’s dainties as art.
