On the Red Carpet: The People’s Choice Awards

The Peoples Choice Awards red carpet culture fashion awards season I really can’t stand the People’s Choice Awards. They’re horrible, they’re tacky, they’re given to the lowest common denominators in show biz, and there’s no suspense because IF YOU SEE THE NOMINEE IN THE AUDIENCE, IT MEANS THEY WON. That being said, I did flip back and forth and caught a few outfits and a few choice moments. I LOVELOVELOVED Ginnifer Godwin’s pink dress with the tulip sleeves by Roksanda Ilincic. The other pink ladies, not so much. I’m not going to rag on Rachel Crow because SHE’LL CRY TO HER MOMMY (that was mean). And kudos to Kathy Griffin, I suppose, for valiantly clashing her hair and her dress, but it doesn’t work and just makes my eyes hurt. Carrie Keegan (WHO?) is in another one of those nasty mullet dresses (they’re like capes for your ass – which you’d think I would like – but just YUCK!), then WHAT’S THIS? A sideways mullet dress on Lucy Hale? That’s interesting. Awkward and unpleasant to look at, but interesting. Then there’s Rachel John (WHO?) in an adorably awful chartreuse mess of a dress with a row of bows that I so totally would wear. Who else? Our old friend Pauley Perrette is forever fab, of course, Demi Lovato is a dream, albeit dressed in a gown that’s a bit old for her, and I love how the sequins on Sharon Osbourne’s dress create a faux-hourglass effect. HA!
