Leah Remini Splits from the Church of Scientology

Scientology religion Leah Remini Churches The New York Post‘s “Page Six” is reporting that after decades of faithful service and millions of dollars in the collection plate, King of Queens star Leah Remini has finally soured on Scientology. “It all began when Leah questioned the validity of excommunication of people,” said a source. “She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt. She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of ‘religion.’” The church’s policies don’t allow parishioners to question leader David Miscavige’s management or the reported abuse of members of its Sea Org religious order – plus followers are forced to “disconnect” from family members branded as “suppressive persons.” A former Sea Org member says that, at the 2006 wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, when Remini innocently asked Miscavige where his wife Shelly was, she was scolded by former Scientology Celebrity Center head Tommy Davis, who told her, “You don’t have the fucking rank to ask about Shelly.” Seemed like a natural question, especially in retrospect – Shelly Miscavige reportedly hasn’t been seen in public since 2007.
