Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward welcomed a daughter, Monroe Christine Lewis, yesterday, Tuesday, October 25. Lewis, 46, wrote in a Facebook post.
“At 4:22pm today, I grew up. Welcome Monroe Christine Lewis.”
Lewis and Edward revealed their news of a baby on the way via surrogate to People magazine in May. Lewis said,
“We are very excited, but I’m also a little terrified. I’m trying to decide if I’m more terrified or excited, but I think it’s normal.
“I haven’t read a single thing. I will probably just wing it, but Gage is already on book three. That’s kind of how we are. I’m a last-minute kind of guy, so in that final hour, I will probably be speed-reading and just kind of pulling out the highlights, where Gage will already be the expert.””
In July, Lewis said that he and his partner had some second thoughts about their soon-to-arrive daughter’s sleep space.
“We decided that we were going to quickly redo the nursery,” he said. “I am waiting for that room to be finished so I can start loading it with everything we need. I’m very organized so for me this is kind of torture, that last-minute stuff.“
After multiple attempts at adoption didn’t pan out for the couple, they decided surrogacy was the best route.
“This has been a three or four year process for us. There were so many obstacles along the way, but there’s a happy ending. I can’t tell you how grateful and appreciative we are.
A lot can change in just a 12-month period, and this has just been one of those incredible growth years.“
ConDRAGulations! You can sleep next year.
