California native, Rick Owens, takes on the diversity issue with full force unleashing an army of realness for his latest collection shown during Paris fashion week. With all the backlash the Industry has received lately for not representing “real” people on the runways this will surely shut a few people up, or at the least leave them speechless…for awhile.
About Idris and TonySince 2005, photographers Idris + Tony have been combining their techincal and creative skills to produce Portrait, Landscape, and Fashion images. In 2011, they debuted their first exhibition Grab which documents contemporary Native American life, and they are also responsible for many of the fabulous photos seen in our coffee table book The World According to Wonder.
Twice a year we have the pleasure of working with a number of designers in order to cast the models who walk the runways during New York Fashion Week. This season was our first time working with the talented team of Kaufmanfranco. Despite their presence on the red carpet, they are fairly new to the show circuit and we certainly felt the pressure to deliver them a cast of beauties that would garner the attention that we felt they deserved. So we worked day in and day out, dealing with the conflicts and politics involved in casting a fashion show. Many times we felt like we were in a living hell, but come show time we found ourselves in heaven with a cast of beauties and an “Angel” among us. One of WOW’s favorite designers, Jason Wu, officially kicked off the start of the New York Spring/Summer 2014 season. His all star cast of models was led down the runway by the iconic Karen Elson. Karlie Kloss with Kati Nescher bought the stampede back into the stables and then posed for a flash mob of photographers with the designer himself. Check out his latest collection here, and to see more behind the scene photos from this season follow us on instagram.
We’ve been watching one of our favorite wowlebrities, Natasha Lyonne (photographed by yours truly exclusively for The World According To Wonder), on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. After a marathon viewing, we have the final episode of the season in queue ready to view, but after we watch it what are we supposed to do? In this era of technology and all of the instant gratification, it spoils leaving us extremely anxious for season 2. In the meantime, we will anticipate seeing her again in the new thriller directed by Teddy Schenck titled 7E. It’s a story of a young man who struggles with unexplained events inside of a New York apartment where tenants are not who they appear to be. Hey, wait! Isn’t that everybody in NY? The provocative and beautiful Natalia Kills shows us just how big a problem she really is. In her first release from her forthcoming album Trouble out September 3, she cast male model Adonis Bosso (a true “IT” boy! Check him out here in an editorial we lensed for Carbon Copy magazine) to play her love interest on film. Could life be imitating art as this steamy romance escalates into reality? They were seen together in public last night at the KESH for American Apparel party in New York before jumping into a cab and riding off together into the night.
