Love Story

Love means never having to say you're horny. Vivid Video's Savanna Samson and "The Reverend" Bob Levy from Howard Stern's radio show met while they were starring in the Vivid comedy Stood Up and have since become "pretty cozy off screen," says a pal of the delicious porn star (Samson, not Levy). The couple will be showing up for the movie's release party in New York on Thursday, although we're sure Samson and Levy had their release at a private party. (via Page Six)

A Program Note

Vivid Valley producer Thairin Smothers, who conducted that podcast phone interview with Vivid girl Stefani Morgan in October, has brought to our attention that, regarding the item yesterday in "Page Six" allowing that Stefani met Tommy Lee at a party after the recent AVN awards in Vegas and is now dating him, all is not entirely true. He reminds us that Stefani said this last year: "I met [Tommy Lee] and I totally like walked away. I wasn't impressed with him at all."

Vivid Valentine

"Page Six" reveals today that Motley Crue drumstick Tommy Lee has started seeing Vivid Video vixen Stefani Morgan after meeting her at a party following the recent AVN awards in Las Vegas. You might remember from Stefani's podcast on the WOW Report last October that she's partial to men "six-two or taller" with "dark hair, dark eyes, and a firm build." And since we know what he likes, the pairing looks like a lap dance made in heaven.

The Devil You Say

The winners at the 23rd annual AVN Awards Show, which occurred Saturday at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, have been announced and we have the complete list here, thanks to AVN's website. The New Devil in Miss Jones won big with Best awards for art direction, editing, and cinematography. We have a clip right here of the making of that winning film, with Jenna Jameson (above) from WOW's Vivid Valley series.

We're happy and want to thank the Supreme Being and the spirit of Linda Lovelace for our winning the Best Mainstream Adult Release award for Inside Deep Throat. But the specialty awards are what really excite us, wondering what the acceptance speeches must have been like.

Fever Las Vegas! The Int'l Consumer Electronics Show

Vivid Video, the subject of World of Wonder’s peep into the porn world, Vivid Valley, airing every Thursday on Playboy TV, headlined the Adult Video section at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for four days last week, ending Sunday night. Over 200,000 conventioneers vied for Vegas hotel rooms, where price gouging set new records: A room at Motel 6 booked at the last minute went for an astronomical $176 a night. According to a recent New York Times survey, $12.6 billion was generated by the adult video industry in 2005. And money-making and money-chasing was the hot pursuit at this world’s largest adult-product convention. Marci Hirsch, Vivid's vice president in charge of production, described the event as “really hectic but great." Vivid has had a booth every year since the company started 21 years ago.

Piece in the Valley

You heard Vivid Girl Savanna Samson talk on the phone to WOW producer Thairin Smothers recently. Now she talks to you, tells you a little more about herself, and then shows you some of what she does with her Vivid friends when she's working. Is there a Vivid Girl who's NOT from Texas? Doesn't seem like it. Hot blonde, Sunrise Adams, one of the buxom beauties in WOW's Vivid Valley series airing Saturdays at 7:30PM on Playboy TV, says that she's always been promiscuous and sexually curious – even when she was a little girl. She left home at 14 to seek an exciting life and at 18, her aunt, Sunset Thomas, who was already in the adult industry (perhaps you've heard of her?), took Sunrise under her sizable wing. Vivid girl Mercedez, one of the stars of WOW's Vivid Valley series, airing Saturday nights at 7:30 on Playboy TV, talks to producer Thairin Smothers about her life in and out of the bizness. She likes the missionary position with her boyfriend, believe it, and doggie style with her costars. In this webisode, edited by WOW's lovely Laura Shady, the lithe and limber Tawny Roberts tells us a little about herself and shows us a some of her work with Vivid Entertainment. The five-foot-seven blue-eyed blonde is a deeply religious Texan whose father was a bishop in the Mormon church. That's hot. She enjoys sex more when she's being watched, especially when she doing it on film. "It's more intense," she says. Tomorrow night, WOW's Vivid Valley series debuts on Playboy TV at 9:30. A few days ago, Yahoo Finance had a comprehensive piece about the 13-parter that goes deep into the lives of some of Vivid Entertainment's hottest porn-star babes. When you read it, note that the episodes are 30 minutes, not an hour.

Miss Jones Gets a Makeover

Vivid Entertainment's hot remake of the classic The Devil in Miss Jones is new on DVD and in stores now, and makes a delightful double-feature with Inside Deep Throat (also out on DVD), if you ask us. Devil stars Vivid girls Jenna Jameson and Savanna Samson (how freakin' uncanny is it that the parents of future porn stars gave their babies alliterative names!). Georgina Spelvin (an exception), who starred in Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano's 1973 original Devil, makes a guest appearance.

With a budget far higher than other adult movies and dazzling sex scenes woven together with a thought-provoking story line, "The New Devil in Miss Jones" blurs the viewer's perception of what appears to be hyper-realism with evocative fantasy sequences. As Ms. Devlin, the Devil, Jameson captures the mood when she tells a horror-struck Justine Jones, "things seem a little bit mixed up, don't they?" (AINews)

Sex and the Valley

Not long ago, around the time Miss Jackson caused that sex-freeze in the US with her Nipplegate nonsense, World of Wonder's 13-part series Porno Valley aired on Channel 4 and Sky in the UK to huge ratings. In probing documentary style, the series explored the bangin' hardcore babes of the Vivid porn industry in California's San Fernando Valley. Mercedez, Savannah, Sunrise, Savanna, Tawney, Briana, and queen of all adult media, Jenna Jameson herself, bared all for the cameras, revealing what it's really like to live as porn stars. But because of Janet's wardrobe malfeasance, after the show was completed, network after network in the US turned it down. Even HBO's doc division, bastion of the free and unafraid and headed by recently annointed female chauvinist pig Sheila Nevins, blanched.

But now the Playboy channel will be showing the series with a splashy new edit, fresh new footage, and brand new title. Vivid Valley, the series, premieres on the Playboy channel Saturday, October 1, and the WOW Report will have hot teaser webisodes with the Vivid girls every Friday before the show and how-was-it-for-you podcasts afterward from a series of vivid Vivid luminaries.
