Sharp knife
Tim Hancock from the World of Wonder London office writes:
I am sure you will over the moon to discover that thisisaknife has once more been selected by iTunes as one of the Best Podcasts of 2007. This is not just for the UK... oh no... it's across the Entire Universe. It's the show's second year running on the list, but this time it's all the more notable, given that we haven't even made a show since September. You can still join the droves and download over 40 classic episodes. Thisisaknife has its very own glorious channel on WOW TV, very much worth clicking. You can also visit channel4.com/knife or go to iTunes and type in thisisaknife. Donal and I are soon to be reunited on a project for E4.com, and the whole knife team are of course developing more ideas, soon to be unleashed.

thisisaknife... IS BACK!
It's been a long time, but thisisaknife, our show all about the strange life of Donal Coonan, is very much back.
The show's exclusively available on the web, both here and our Channel 4 website. Oh, and there's our blog too. But for now, why don't you pour yourself a cup of weird and watch the exploits of Donal, a speedtalker, and Rainbow George.

thisisaknife: Ambushing Luke
The problem with putting your phone number on the internet and asking everyone to call you, is that when an internet TV show wants to get in touch, you may well be engaged. We succeeded where others failed, though, by finding a man who lives near Luke Johnson in Arizona, and getting him to hide outside his work. If you're unfamiliar with Luke, have a watch of this:
Also featured in today's show... the mac V PC adverts get a freestyle makeover. (ps. Have a read of our blog)

thisisaknife: Watch TV Being Made
A new episode of thisisaknife, and with it a new wacky idea... we're making a pilot for E4, and we thought it would probably turn out better if you would help us. So how's about it? Sidle over to the blog for more.

thisisaknife: French Maids TV
We're back! With a new easily digestible, slimline, fortnightly show, while we work on a knife that could well be bigger and better than your wildest fantasies. Meanwhile: the maids at French Maids TV insult Donal's appearance. (Be our Myspace friend)
December 21, 2006
thisisaknife: Christmas Special
It's Christmas time, so it's time to put on a big red suit. A big red matador suit, that is. (Read our blog!)
December 14, 2006
thisisaknife: Beatboxing Special
The money isn't making itself this Christmas. That's why Donal garners the services of Beardyman – the number-one beatboxer in the UK – to make him some money. Don't forget to read our blog.
December 7, 2006
thisisaknife: Wii Three Kings
This week: a completely uncomprehensive review of the Nintendo Wii. And Donal gets sick and ill. Don't forget to have a look at our blog.
November 30, 2006
thisisaknife: Doing It for the Kids
Happy Families? No, not the right title. Watch Your Parents Fuck? No, not that either. Doing It for the Kids? That's it!
November 23, 2006
thisisaknife: Life's a Ditch
This week: Will it Blend TV, a call-center influenced techno classic, and Donal goes too far in search of man who lives in a ditch. Go on... subscribe to our show, and have a look at the blog.
November 16, 2006
thisisaknife: Stunt Special
It didn't drizzle a drop of rain in London last Sunday, which was lucky as it was Donal's heavily antipated stunt. People came from as far as Watford to join in. Watch on to see what happened. (Visit the blog, subscribe to the podcast)
November 9, 2006
thisisaknife: We Are Boys. In a Car
In this week's thisisaknife, Donal takes his mates out to the local drive-through. As always, there's also a bit of Blum in there too. (Subscribe, read the blog, and visit the main page)
November 2, 2006
thisisaknife: Not Our 5th Birthday Party
This is probably the last thisisaknife for a while that we'll be featuring Donal's past, but once you've seen him as an upset five-year-old, that's probably more than enough anyway. Also in this week's show, Donal's obsession with free newspaper wall charts spirals out of control and into song. (Subscribe, read the blog)
October 26, 2006
thisisaknife: Meet Donal's Parents
You may well have heard of Dishwasher Salmon, the tasty, energy-saving meal primarily formulated to wow your friends. But you probably haven't heard of Iron Steak, or Trouser Paninis, though, and neither had we until Donal decided to feed all of those to his family without telling them how they were cooked. Hilarious consequences ensue.
October 19, 2006
thisisaknife: As Easy As Cook, Paint, Sprint
When John Kilduff says "Let's Paint," we say "How?" And he says "Whilst running and cooking at the same time. And also fielding questions from confused viewers." Donal interviews the man behind the most energetic thing on Cable Access Television and can't help wondering that if John did all these things one at a time they might all turn out a bit better.
Oh, and on the full show, there's a robot who does only one thing, but in a very scary manner.
October 12, 2006
thisisaknife: Scenes of a Sexual Nature
When Donal finally makes his way to the premiere of Scenes of a Sexual Nature, Ewan McGregor's latest "romp," he spends less time interviewing celebrities, and more time getting some Swedish girls to ride his Daddle. What's a Daddle? This is a Daddle. (Oh, and there's an Avid Merrion interview on our full show, and on the blog.)
October 5, 2006
thisisaknife: Pants Off Dance Off
This week, Donal meets the woman who believes that Jesus visited her in 1984 and told her the cure for cancer and how to bring about world peace. She tells him that the latter can be achieved by playing the signature tune to her rock opera. In response to that, we dig out a video of Donal when he was 15, dancing to that tune. We really do. Also in the show: Pants Off Dance Off.
September 28, 2006
thisisaknife: Blacking Up Was Never Wrong
This week, Donal meets the secretive Verbal Gardeners, experts of linguistic espionage. To conceal their identities, we blur their faces. We also conceal Donal's identity from them. In a different way.
September 21, 2006
thisisaknife: Internet Piracy
Donal talks like a pirate, raps like a ninja and tries to get some sense out of Stephen Hawking. (Watch)
September 14, 2006
thisisaknife: Monkey See, Donal Do
It's not often that anyone does what Donal says, let alone does what he does. Except if that anyone happens to be animals – then they love it. Watch as Donal gives us a demonstration of his power over the Kingdom of the Beasts.
September 7, 2006
thisisaknife: Catch a Perv
Catching a pervert can be easier than you think. Either go for the catchaperv.com method and stalk the chatrooms as a 13-year-old girl or, alternatively, sit on some steps with a balloon and wait for the onslaught to come. You can probably guess which is adopted by Donal. Also in this week's episode: Donal gets the worst-ever score in the UK Air-Guitar Championship final.
August 31, 2006
thisisaknife: The World Will End in a Week
It's been said before, but the world really is ending a week on Tuesday. You don't believe us? Then listen to it from the horse's mouth, as it speaks into a telephone to Donal on this week's thisisaknife. Also this week: the Pirate Rap.
August 24, 2006
thisisaknife: Sodomizing Einstein
When we heard about an Irish company who had metaphorically spat on Einstein's face, having claimed to have rewritten the laws of physics, we just had to call on our big old phone. It was just a shame that there were so many trains about.
August 17, 2006
thisisaknife: The Metaphor Matador
Why would any man spend every weekend driving around London in a bubble-emitting car, singing a song about being a Handyman? And why would anyone dress up as a matador just to get his hair cut by a barber that wants to smell his hair? Watch it now, read our blog, or subscribe to the podcast to find out.
August 10, 2006
thisisaknife: Masturbate-a-Thon Special
Yes, the rest of the media turned up at the 1st International Masturbate-a-Thon too, but how many of them got to tell the organisers about their first sexual experience? And how many of the other shows' presenters then went on to dress up in a minstrel costume and sing a song about British history? Not many, I imagine.
August 3, 2006
thisisaknife: Naughty Adverts
We get annoyed by sneaky viral adverts here at thisisaknife, the ones that pretend not to be adverts at all. That's why we made our own, slightly more blatant version. Well - actually a very, very blatant version. In this week's episode we also return to Donal's Ring My Bell interview - this time the bit where he suggested that he skinned Andrea Lowell.
July 27, 2006
thisisaknife: Ring My Nuts
It had to happen eventually: this week, Donal phoned up Ring My Bell, and ended up having a 20 minute conversation with Andrea Lowell, mostly about nuts. Also in this week's show, our web-celeb points out an an inner truth about Donal's sexuality.
July 25, 2006
That's Not a Knife...
It would be nice to think that myself and Tim arranged this – getting Donal to break into an old lady's house in the dead of night, wearing a hoodie and brandishing a knife. It's worth it just for the publicity – if only they'd spell it correctly. For the last time, it's 'thisisaknife'!

thisisaknife: Little Lightning Fingers
This week thisisaknife comes to you from the Latitude Festival, mostly because there we got our grubby hands on Dynamo, the magician with the lightning fingers, body-popping moves, and celebrity worshippers. Also featured is a man whose conversation is a lot less adult than he thinks it is. (Watch it here, or subscribe to the podcast.)
July 13, 2006
thisisaknife: Googled in the Pirate Bay
We euphemised websites with a Mexican boy called Paco, we entered a squat in the East End (only to be accosted by a hermit), and Brent Simon, our web celeb, sang a knife jingle with nerd punk ease. The chances are you will enjoy all of this. (Watch here or even better, subscribe to the podcast here)
July 5, 2006
thisisaknife: Beckham Butter
Oh, it's a good one this week, as we had exclusive access to David Beckham. Sort of. We discover that he let the England team down this year, but not in a way you'd think. Also featured is a video of a robot... again. Don't try to tell us you haven't subscribed to the podcast yet.
June 29, 2006
thisisaknife: Budgies and Balls
The budgieman is a living legend. That's all we really need to say about this week's thisisaknife, except maybe to tease you that in today's episode, Donal also gaffer-tapes himself to a strapping young lad.
June 22, 2006
thisisaknife: Pigs and Poses
This week, thisisaknife asks: What if Big Brother featured pigs, and instead of being freed when they're voted out, they're eaten? Also featured are the perils of getting the audience to write your show, and some very long awkward poses.

Top of the pile in the WOW kitchen sink right now is this gleaming new mug from our thisisaknife show. Wash Watch a fresh episode here every Thursday.

thisisaknife
Better late than never: this week's thisisaknife from the London office, in which Donal meets the infamous Mr Holy Moly, the masked British version of Perez Hilton, and also investigates whether celebrity-texts.com do really let you instantly SMS real life celebrities.
From now on, all the shows will be podcasted, and the Channel 4 website is finally available for everyone to see at channel4.com/knife. It's almost too much to cope with.

Tugging on His Three Lions
As work is finally completed on the thisisaknife podcast, it looks at though we won't be able to post this week's show until tomorrow. We thought we'd try to satiate your desire, at least in part, with a clip from it - featuring those dedicated England soccer fans. I think it's fair to say that the views they express are very much not their own.

Donal and Sezer, Sitting in a Tree
We didn't really believe we'd manage to get Sezer from UK Big Brother only a couple of days after leaving the house. Thinking it wouldn't happen, we only formulated the plan to get him to tongue Donal for fun, seeing as Sezer is famous as a womaniser and self-proclaimed "alpha-male." But then we managed to catch him in Leicester Square. For those who missed it, you can watch it here.

June 8, 2006
thisisaknife: Songs and Sezer
This week's knife features UK Big Brother's Sezer, a shopping list obsessive, Donal's first fan, and we've even set up a competition with a prize that no-one could refuse.
June 1, 2006
thisisaknife: Perez and Protests
Definitely our favourite knife yet. The fantastic Perez Hilton is interviewed, and Donal does his bit for animal cruelty by wearing his heart on his head.
May 30, 2006
Bear Baiting
Influenced by those naked animal-loving girlies the other week, who bared their skins to protest about bears being skinned for our national guard's hats, thisisaknife's Donal Coonan decided to do his bit.
It turns out that you can not only make a hat with synthetic materials, but you can make a flipping massive one. So we took it to its rightful place. The police weren't as impressed as the tourists. The full film will be part of thisisaknife on Thursday, catch it here first.

May 25, 2006
thisisaknife
Here it is – this week's thisisaknife! In this episode, we feature real-life web celeb Ze Frank's tics, get obsessed with Samuel L Jackson's upcoming masterpiece Snakes on a Plane, and hear a vampire speak frankly about death. Honestly.

Minicab?
You'd think they'd have noticed he wasn't really the most articulate person and that, instead of the slim white man they'd been expecting, he was a large black man. But still, last week BBC News 24 went live on a discussion about the ruling on the Apple Corps v Apple Computer case with whom they thought was IT journalist Guy Kewney, but was in fact the cab driver who had been waiting for him. It turned out he had been bundled into the studio and had a microphone clipped to his tie before he had time to protest. Just watch the look on his face when he realises what's happened.

thisisaknife
Long unavailable on the internet in the US (just as most content is banned from the internet in China), thisisaknife, that charming weekly revue of amusing websites, assembled and hosted by droll, bursting-with-personality Brits from WOW's London office, can now be seen here on the WOW Report every Thursday. (Watch high-quality version)
