Remote-Free TV from Fox

FoxlogoAt its upfronts yesterday, the Fox network announced it had two exciting new drama series, JJ Abrams' Fringe in August and Joss Whedon's Dollhouse in January. But more exciting was the news that the shows would air with "dramatically reduced" commercials. "It's a simple concept and potentially revolutionary," said Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori. "We're going to have less commercials, less promotional time, and less reason for viewers to use the remote. We're going to redefine the viewing experience." It'll be just like cable – but with commercials. (THR)
