He Shot a Birdie

Pro golfer Tripp Isenhour has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird. In December, while Isenhour was shooting a video called Shoot Like a Pro at the Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, he kept having to do reshoots because of squawks coming from a frisky red-shouldered hawk. After several attempts to drive golfballs at the bird, Isenhour finally struck it on the head, pro that he is. The dead bird fell to the ground, bleeding from its nostrils.

"He just kept saying how he didn't think he could have hit it, which I think is a stupid thing for a PGA Tour golfer to say," said Jethro Senger, a sound engineer at the shoot. "He can put a ball in a hole from hundreds of yards away, and here he is hitting line drives at something that's, I don't know, a couple hundred feet away?"

If convicted, Isenhour could spend 14 months in a human cage and pay $1,500 in fines. (Source; AP photo)
