Dubai Architexture: The Shapes of Things to Come
Fenton Bailey writes from Dubai:
Not every building project in Dubai actually gets built. Here are some that have not made it. Yet.
THE CLOUD - A city perched high in the sky and shrouded in perma-mist. Official blurb says "significantly creative technological solutions are being developed for its realization."
HYDROPOLIS - An underwater hotel. Word on the street is that they realized for guests to see any fish they would have to house the entire hotel in an underwater aquarium.
I-PAD TOWER - Shaped like an iPod.
THE EGG - Another project from Cybertecture. Yet to be hatched, though actually planned for Mumbai, not Dubai.
THE TWIRLING TOWER - Buildings in motion, literally. Watch the twirling here.
PROPERTY HOUSE - Twin towers: one shaped like a P, the other like an H. Rest of the alphabet to follow.
