Perez 'N Boots
The booking came fast and furious. We had about two hours notice to race down to Mary J. Blige’s music video shoot and hang out with her in her majorly pimped out trailer for a sit-down interview. It was like someone said, “Mary J. Bl-…” and before finishing her name, we were going, “How high?” Ok, first things first. She didn’t have a trailer, she had a full-on, collapsible, doubledecker motor home mounted on a giant flatbed. It had retractable flat screens everywhere and the fresh scent of gardenias, or plumeria, or, I don’t know, lilies. Who cares? It didn’t smell like beer, bongs, and ass like most tour buses tend to do. And before we knew it, we were looking at Mary J. Blige, who was put together very nicely with these sick Alexander McQueen boots that made every woman and gay person in the room want to drop everything and find some cheap knockoffs at the Off Broadway Show Warehouse on Sunset. I think they’re in Aisle 3. Tell ‘em I sent ya. Watch it all get sick on… What Perez Sez... About Divas premiering Tuesday, February 19th at 10pm on VH1.
