Ahh, Bluefields, Nicaragua – sister city with Racine, Wisconsin. Every week, sometimes every day, 35kg bales of cocaine drift in from the sea, dumped overboard by drug traffickers fleeing the US military. The floating bales of cocaine are carried on currents right into the lagoons that surround the town on Nicaragua's Atlantic coast. The entire economy of this not-so-sleepy-so-much community of 50,000 is built on the cocaine booty, which some call "white lobsters." (NZHerald; t/y Beau)
