Handle It Like Beckham
A year ago, David Beckham said he feared being killed in a car crash because of all the paparazzi pursuing him on the road. But there were no photographers on his tail last week when he crashed his black BMW into a wall in the French Riviera. He and the wife had gone to France to spend a few days at their retreat before Beckham had to fly to Beijing to be part of the Olympics closing ceremony today. He was racing to the airport in Nice for his flight to China, when he slammed into a stone wall, smashing the windshield and destroying the passenger side of the car where Posh was sitting. Although she was severely shaken, and crying, he simply gave her a hug and rushed off to catch his scheduled flight, which the accident had made him late for, leaving the wife to deal with the wreck, the police, and whatnot.
