Pete on the Street
Pete Doherty has been evicted from his nine-bedroom Wiltshire house because the landlord was dismayed to discover the walls, floors, and windows decorated in human blood. Were you aware that Pete Doherty lived in a nine-bedroom mansion? Nine bedrooms. The eviction couldn't come at a better time, really, because Doherty currently has a home at Wormwood Scrubs prison for his crimes against probation. But it doesn't look good for him in general. "Pete is homeless and broke," said a friend, "and owes thousands to dealers." And those dealers have been looting his nine bedrooms to make back some of the money they're owed. Stefano Passantino, founder of Lastseason.com, is Pete's knight in shining fashion, and has set up a Pete Doherty Welfare Fund to get him back on his feet when he's freed from jail. "I'm a huge fan who wants to see this gifted bloke given every chance to get back on his feet. ... I'll give him a job, feed him, clothe him – but I won't wash him, that's asking too much." (Mirror)
