• Da Vinci Code director (and former Opie) Ron Howard had to shoot the movie's prequel in fake churches after being banned by the Vatican from filming in any of its real churches. • Suge Knight is facing felony drug and misdemeanor battery charges stemming from an incident in a Las Vegas parking lot in August, when police say they witnessed Knight beating his girlfriend while holding a knife over her. Interesting that the drugs are a felony and the girlfriend-beating is a misdemeanor.
• The ghost pilferer. Jennifer Love Hewitt's trailer was burglarized on the set of The Ghost Whisperer. Details are very hush-hush. • Hot website Hot Chicks with Douchebags is now a book and its author is being sued for $10,000 by Michael Minelli for using photos of him taken without permission. He says he's continually called a douchebag by friends, coworkers, and strangers. • Alec Baldwin, cornered last night at a gala in New York, was asked what it was like kissing Jennifer Aniston in that recent installment of 30 Rock. "It was painful," he said. "I mean, every man who's had to make out with her in TV and movies — I don't know how they do it." Was that Baldwin's dry wit or dry heave?
