About a week ago, a 30-year-old man from Long Island dived into the David Hockney pool at the Roosevelt Hotel's Tropicana Bar in Hollywood and never came up. He was later found dead at the bottom of the pool. No cause of death was determined, but an LA cop thought the mishap might have been due to alcohol consumption. At an emergency meeting of hotel management, it was decided not to drain the pool and refill it because "there was enough chlorine in it to kill the bacteria." Staffers of the hotel, Teddy's club, and the Tropicana Bar were instructed to keep quiet about the incident. A week later, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Eve, Kevin Connolly, and Stacy Keibler "were swimming in the unchanged water," a source told Page Six. And two days ago, Justin Long, Sarah Chalke, Seth Rogen, and Elizabeth Banks splashed about in the water blithely unaware at a party hosted by Effen Vodka.
