Sparkling Conversation
We had a particular interest in one of the items in Page Six this morning. We read that Calvin Klein's ex, Kelly Klein, is going to sell off the Duchess of Windsor's jewelry the duke bought the duchess and Calvin bought his duchess in a famous sale in 1987. (The collection is apparently now worth $3 million.) It had been a newsworthy purchase and Mrs Klein tended to wear some of it when she went out at night, as one does. So when we were introduced to the pretty young thing one night in the Mike Todd Room at Steve Rubell's Palladium, the lovely, laboriously expensive gem-cluster she was wearing around her neck got its own introduction. "Oh, Kelly," we said, holding a cocktail and staring at her sternum, "I love how you've managed to make it look sporty!" Watching her turn and walk away, we wondered if it was something we said.
