They Were In Tent on Winning
David A Keeps reports on the Emmys from the party in the TV Guide tent:
The WOW office building was bathed in a fleur-di-lis damask pattern last night courtesy of TV Guide, which hosted its annual post-Emmy bash at Les Deux and the parking lot where WOW staffers customarily park. This shot was taken from Mr Saban's usual spot. • The curtains DID match the carpet at the glamorous entrance to the tent. And gold lions flanked the entrance. It was all so MGM.
The enormous parking-lot big top, where John Legend, Kanye West, and The Band From TV rocked the house. The party drew thousands. Seriously! It was MOBBED. John Hamm from Mad Men was the first famous face inside the door. And what a face. Jeez, the guy's even more devastating in person, as was his girlfriend (sound of hearts breaking ). And nice. I asked him if he had a smoke. He said, "Not anymore, I'm just breathing fresh air these days." Also spotted: Christopher Knight and his wife Adrienne (who is tall and orange and wears cleavage shimmer – like she needs to), and Terry O'Quinn from Lost, wearing a raspberry pink shirt and a tie with matching crystal stripes (Swarovski, I have no doubt).
The theme of the party was Louis Luau! Women in Marie Antoinette finery poured champagne and lounged in swings. • In a booth sponsored by Nabisco, mademoiselles wore can-can skirts made of green peppers and romaine lettuce. Beneath them, the smell of ripening cheese wafted towards their daintily crossed, fishnet-clad pins.
James Denton was giving good phone, speaking on a reporter's BlackBerry to the good folk of Australia. The Desperate Housewives' plumber, wearing a John Edwards campaign T-shirt, also played guitar in the band The Band from TV. • Lisa Rinna revealed her secret for creamy side boobage: Oil of Olay Definity. Using a variation on the Sarah Silverman excuse, Rinna and hubby Harry Hamlin declined to go on-camera with tvguide.com. "I have to pee," she said, then proceeded to pose for the paps on the line for another 10 minutes. • What you don't see are Joey Fatone's fabulous Gucci sneakers.
Miss Teri Hatcher gives it up for the TV Guide Channel. • Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn, in a pink beaded gown, flank TV Guide editor-in-chief Ian Birch on the red carpet. "It's a privilege to meet you," said O'Connell. Ser-woon!
