Your Gay in Court

Judge David Young, who joined the crowded family of TV magistrates when his show premiered on the CW at 9:00 and 9:30 this morning, is the first openly gay gavel-rapper among them. The 48-year-old former Miami prosecutor and judge hopes to be a role model for gay youth. Young, who came out at 34, plans to rule his courtroom with compassion, but he's not above belting out a show tune or breaking into a booty-shaking dance with his bailiff, Tawya. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the two vamp through the show together like "Weight Watchers peanut butter and jelly," according to Young. "I'll look at her, and she'll look at me and we'll go, 'Mmm-hmmm, girlfriend.' If I were straight, I'd marry her." Oh, and he'll be less likely to throw the book at anyone; he throws like a girl.
