Downtown Does Downtown

Here is the legendary 1988 New York City recording session of Petula Clark's classic "Downtown" as sung by the cream of Manhattan's below-14th Street, pre-club kid celebrity culture. A rare Saturday afternoon convening of not-yet-awake celebutantes, nightclub stars, artists, and musicians performing a kind of afterhours "We Are the World," if a bomb had dropped on the studio.... we for one would be dead now.
