Jada just makes it sound worse... When they were courting, Katie said she was a huge Tom Cruise fan when she was a little girl and now it just sounds like she's pulling some kind of Nicolas Cage, "ultimate fan" manuver. We all know how badly it turned out for the Elvis-obsessed Cage so it seems only natural that Katie goes into attack mode when she feels her pre-teen fantasy world could crumble in the cold, harsh light of reality.
Either that or she's still holding out for her Oscar shot like the five-headed ex. Kidnapping, childhood fantasy fulfilment or something else, the core reality is that it's a good career move for both of them to stay together for a few more years, milking the publicity of their relationship. Given the fact that neither one has made a memorable movie recently, it's pretty much all they have left now...
