Out of Rebound

Before it really amounted to anything, it's over. Reese Witherspoon's romance with Jake Gyllenhaal, according to a source quoted in Us Weekly, has either been called off by her or she's just taking a break from it. Apparently, it was a rebound thing for Witherspoon, who got close to Gyllenhaal on the set of Rendition only five months after leaving Ryan Phillippe. "She cares for Jake, but the timing is crappy," said an anonymous informant. "She doesn’t have enough emotional space for him right now." Gyllenhaal seems to be taking it well; commenting to a friend, he said simply, "I'm single." (Hollywood Life)
