A Date for Nicole
Nicole Richie, whose lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley has filed a continuance five times, has been ordered by a Los Angeles Superior Court to stand trial on July 11 for her December DUI arrest. No more delays. "It must happen within 10 days of that date or Richie must enter a plea," said a Superior Court spokesperson. Richie could go to jail for a year if convicted. Asked whether he'd thought of any kind of plea deal to offer in lieu of a trial, Holley said, with a touch of petulance, "Just because it is set for trial that does not mean we are going to trial. We are still discussing things and we are still looking at the case." What's to look? It's really Simple. The girl was high, on her cell phone, and driving in the opposite direction on the 134. (Us)
