Paul Reubens' Big Adventure
After stealing the 30 Rock episode playing that prince with the tiny hand, World of Wonder favorite Paul Reubens has new adventures in the works, including two new Pee-wee Herman movies, he tells MTV. One will be an extension of Pee-wee's Playhouse, with all the original characters actually setting foot outside the Playhouse and staying there for most of the movie. In the other film, Pee-wee becomes a famous singer who makes movies, like Elvis, and turns into a "big jerk." But can 55-year-old Reubens get away with being Herman again? "I feel like the time is really ripe right now," he says. "A lot of the kids who grew up with the show are young adults. The college kids are middle-aged adults. I feel like I have enough of a built-in audience to make back an investment." Plus, he has a back-up plan just in case: "My second option is to have Johnny Depp play Pee-wee." Who, by the way, is thinking about it.
