Meatballs Meets Caddyshack

Bmurrayduigolfcart-1Bill Murray was pulled over by a traffic cop in downtown Stockholm, Sweden, Monday for driving a golf cart while drunk. “He refused to blow in the instrument," said Detective-Inspector Christer Holmlund, referring to the Breathalyzer, "citing American legislation. So we applied the old method — a blood test. It will take 14 days before the results are in.” Murray, who had "borrowed" the golf cart parked outside his hotel to transport him to and from the nightclub Cafe Opera, a mile away, was in town for the Scandinavian Masters golf tournament. Meanwhile, he'll be charged only if his blood-alcohol exceeds Sweden's legal limit, which is low, and he could get prison, though Holmlund says a fine is more likely. Oddly, it's not illegal to drive a golf cart in city traffic in Sweden, but it's unusual. (freep)
