When Voguing Was in Vogue

See more at SCOTTO.

When Madonna appropriated the moves she saw at the voguing balls in Harlem, she turned them into a phenomenal hit song and video, further glorifying herself. Around that time, MTV created a contest that asked viewers to create their own "Vogue" video. Here, from WOW TV's Scotto channel, is the video shot at the Red Zone in New York in 1990, that won the contest and was shown in rotation on the music channel for a month. Or so legend has it. (Yes, we know vogue is spelled vogue and not vouge; they were young and illiterate then, and who are we to edit history.)
