Straight to Hell: The Manhattan Review of Unnatural Acts, the little cult gayzine with the big title founded in 1969 and an influence on virtually every fagmag since, is celebrating its latest issue (above) on August 29th at Slurp in Manhattan. My Comrade editor Linda Simpson will be your host. STH's appeal has always been its anonymous contributors' frank tales of alleged real-life homo liaisons in every conceivable, mostly sordid location, complemented by vintage black-and-white AMG photos, and we're sure nothing has changed over the decades. Back in the '80s Trey Spiegel's Straight to Hell nights at Danceteria and Pyramid were the hot ticket.

The Rev.Boyd McDonald, Harvard Class of 1950, was the genius behind Straight To Hell. When I first move to New York and discovered STH, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. We need more of his flat out queer sensibility in the world today. He had no use for the middle class hypocrisy. A pessimist with a heart of gold, hand on his dick and mouth on your cock.
Trey's gift was being able to entice some very notable personalities to get on stage at the Pyramid and actually read some of the entries! Fran Lebowitz, Cookie Mueller, Eric Ryan-Genius!
Linda Simpson is a goddess and you'd never know she was so old!
