If you're wondering why famed/infamed director Roman Polanski turns up in Rush Hour 3 as a cop who sticks his finger up the butts of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan during a cavity search, the reason is quite simple – although unfathomable: He loved Rush Hour. The director of Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown is no snob. He likes the movies of Brett Rattner and when the two directors met they became friends and Rattner asked Polanski to be in the sequel, which he happily agreed to. "I called to tell people," Rattner tells The Advocate, "and they said, 'Roman Polanski is not going to be in this movie.' I said, 'Yes, he is,' but they didn't get it." Understandable.
