Name It
The produce manager at Whole Foods let Thairin Smothers have as many of these as he wanted, so he took some. But he has no idea what they are; though they look like sweet potatoes, they aren't. Clues: A) They're handled by the produce manager, so they're probably produce, and B) the manager let Thairin take as many as he wanted, so they're obviously inexpensive, unlike, say, asparagus. Can you help? And do you have a recipe?

the little things at the top look like chiles of some kind and the two tuber things look like a variety of potato that's spoilt. With the blue-ish purple bit on the end, I'd guess they're related to Peruvian Blues but the red/orange parts make me think it's a more Central American variety.
