Not So Hot: An Observation

The Galaxy Express is the somewhat misnamed bus that carts you from Hollywood and Highland to the newly revamped Griffith Observatory. Billy and I went there on opening night last Friday and it was CHAOS. Like refugees, people had been waiting for hours for their scheduled bus to ferry them to the top.

As the Galaxy Express limped through traffic, a video presentation told us it was fueled by soybeans and that laser color printing was available on board. At the top, it was all foggy and cold, so we headed to the Wolfgang Puck eaterie, the cutely named "Cafe at the End of the Universe," for some nice hot soup. But there was one catch: no hot food tonight. "Because of the telescope," said an official, apologizing for the freak occurence. But isn't this an Observatory? Isn't the telescope always going to be here?

Uhuh. Turns out only after setting the menu and installing the ovens did they realize that the telescope is allergic to greasy fumes. So no hot food served in the Cafe at the End of the Universe.
