Brokeback Idol

Ironically, the more American Idol seems to want to mock, make unwelcome, or outright insult and humiliate gays just short of homophobically, as the smug, rolling-eyed judges did with the androgynous Zachary in episode 2 (setting GLAAD's short hairs on end), the gayer the show seems to become. For example, the recent, unintentional Brokeback Mountain family of cowboys, and of course the always subtle Ryan Seacrest buddy-flirting (and keeping it appropriate) with all the others.
