Celebrities at Large

I'm grinding through traffic late on Sunday afternoon, trying to make an ill-advised left in front of the Beverly Center, when I notice what looks like a retired circus clown standing on the corner by the Coffee Bean. He's about five feet tall with hair that would make Don King laugh, and wearing a mismatched blazer and slacks and Hollywood-requisite face-swallowing sunglasses. In other words, just another LA hobo – except that my girlfriend pointed out that the shoes he was wearing probably cost more than my car. I gave him another once-over, and realized I was staring at Al Pacino. Holy smokes, what happened? I know Michael Corleone wouldn't be caught dead standing on a smoggy street corner looking like he just climbed out of a crypt, that's for sure.
