Trey and Matt have been lucky with South Park of late. Their "Trapped in the Closet" episode is nominated for an Emmy and now comedy Central's self-congratulatory "for your consideration" ad in Daily Variety is coincidentally up-to-the-minute timely. Although it alludes to the rumor that Tom Cruise used his powerful influence to prevent the "Trapped" installment from rerunning on Comedy Central, it appears to mock Mel Gibson's very recent rant against Jews. But a Comedy Central spokesman said that although the ad is typically topical and "thumb in your eye" for the network, the ad was designed weeks before Gibson's arrest. (LATimes)
