Rock 'n' Roll Can't Save Him
The luster has finally dulled on Gary's glitter. The British belter of the anthemic "Rock and Roll Part 2"– whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd – has been gadding about the Vietnam vicinity since shortly after being convicted in England of possessing child pornography back in 1999. The '70s star was kicked out of Cambodia as well, though authorities there won't say why. Now the 61-year-old missing rocker is being searched for over his relationship with a 15-year-old girl who's been living in Glitter's rented house in Ba Ria Vung Tau province. "If evidence of a (legal) violation is found against Mr Paul Francis, and especially evidence of sexual child abuse," said a foreign ministry spokesman, "I believe that very strict legal measures will apply to him." In Vietnam, a child-abuse conviction usually means the death penalty.
