Frame in Focus
Greetings from Palm Beach, starts Maurice Bonamigo's letter to the WOW Report, which follows:
On Thursday, June 23, I boarded American Airlines from Miami to San Francisco for the Frameline Film Festival for the screening of our famous World of Wonder film, Gay Republicans, which was to be shown on Friday evening. I arrived in San Francisco at 10:45 and was quickly taken to the Hotel Vitale where Frameline was gracious enough to house me for the 2-day stay. I have to say, this Hotel is fabulous. The staff could not do enough to make sure that I was kept happy and comfortable. (People often wonder if I am high maintenance. Well, I am not; I am just fortunate and misunderstood.)
My dear friend and producer, Anne Clements, arrived a couple of hours later. We met up and quickly headed off for lunch, cosmopolitans, and scotch, known as our "life support." After several hours of catching up over cocktails, it was back to the hotel to freshen up before our dear friend, director Wash Westmoreland, arrived for dinner along with other friends in the film industry. I have to say San Francisco knows how to make divine cosmopolitans and pour fabulous triple scotches. Oh yes, the food is always good wherever you go.
(More after the jump)
Old friends and meeting new friends are a truly a blessing. Good people always stay together, as well they should and one can never have to many wonderful people in their lives.
Special note needs to be given out to a new found friend, Chris Panizzon. Executive Producer of "The Dream Factory Studio." Watch out for this man, he is definitely on the rise, and Maurice is always right about people.
With Chris as our guide to San Francisco, it was off to one of Frameline's parties. BORING and what a poor excuse for a party. Christ, have people forgotten how to entertain? Food that came from the supermarket tubs, mini-cupcakes that were so God damn dry, and drinks that were like Kool-aid. Not to mention the Loft, probably hadn't been cleaned in months. Forget this bohemian crap, give me Palm Beach Gold and more Gold any day. God almighty.
OK troops, Off to a Real Party. At almost 4:00 AM, well lets say, what happened in SFO will stay in SFO.
My other Film mate, Mark Harris also flew in for the screening of "Gay Republicans" which meant off for more alcohol and great food. Since this was my first time in San Francisco, Chris Panizzon, was the tour guide of all the quaint spots this Fab City has to offer. Thank you Chris for your wonderful hospitality.A good sign of proper breeding.
"Gay Republicans" was a complete sell out. The folks at the film festival made a big mistake to show the film in a little theater. They should have hosted the film in a larger theater to sell more tickets which would have brought in more money to the festival, but far be it for me to pass judgment.
The question and answer session following the film, well suffice it to say, I felt like the Christian thrown to the lions. What is it with all those savage gays who know what's good for the world. Get over yourselves. No wonder you are all so miserable and let me venture to point out to you all, being Gay is not a profession and perhaps you all need to learn to respect other people's view points and get your head out of your asses. With all your prejudice, mean spirit, and self persecution, it's no wonder half America looks at you all as a bunch of clowns and social misfits. One more thing, to the ultraliberal Gay community, start cleaning up your act and quit playing the victims all the time. Because if you do not, you never will be accepted by the majority of the American people.
That being said, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to be associated with World of Wonder and all my wonderful friends there. Randy Barbato, Fenton Bailey, Anne, and Wash, thank you all for being such good friends and know that you all will always hold a special place in my life. I shall also look forward to many other projects with WOW.
On a final note, Mark Harris will be running for congress from Los Angeles in 2006 and I have officially launched my new political and image consulting firm, MAURICEBONAMIGO.COM. I will be working with Mark in his campaign in the 06 election.
Until then, Palm Beach XXXXXXXXXs and look forward to seeing everyone in LA for the DVD Release party.

Some people should have the word "fabulous" surgically removed.

No Anne....Gay Republicans do exist..so do Gay Skinheads in both the racist/nationalist variety and the S.H.A.R.P kind. There are all sorts of gays...into all sorts of things! Anyone who thinks that just because you're gay that you CAN'T be something outside the unwritten rules of homosexuality (like be a cocksucking Republican faggot)is clearly WORSE than Maurice Bonamigo will ever be!

hateful...now speaking as someone who is not gay, I just do not understand why someone would identify themself with a group (Republican) that openly speaks against their lifestyle, and in fact are attempting to pass an amendment to ban the gay population from being able to get married. please forgive my ignorance, but I just don't understand this

Anne: it's because gay Republicans have this (and excuse my use of this analogy) "house slave" mentality going. They think that if they dress and act like conservatives, and cater to the Republican Party's wants, that the Republicans will take them seriously and maybe lay off the whole "opposed to homosexuality" thing. Little do they know that behind closed doors, the Republicans are just laughing their asses off at them.
