Disco vs Glam: Let Me See Your Peacock

Velvet Goldmine Saturday Night Fever John Travolta Christian Bale 70s films Need recommendations for a Netflix Saturday night double-feature? How about Saturday Night Fever and Velvet Goldmine? They have a lot in common. Both take place in the 70s (although Goldmine was made in the 90s) they both feature, rebelious youth, great music, crazy-sexy fashion and two young stars before they were big. SNF made Mr. Travolta a superstar and Goldmine utilizes Christian Bale in maybe one of his best performances (along with the spectacular Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Ewan McGregor), before his the caped crusader days. Worth rewatching both and heaven FORBID, if you’ve never seen, both should be on the must-watch list.
