Ancient Egyptians Had Their Hair Did Before Being Mummified and EntombedThursday, August 18, 2011 05:15 PM
New evidence shows that style in the afterlife was just as important to the Egyptians as it was during their time on Earth, that both men and women made sure they'd stay attractive for eternity by making post-mortem appointments at their local salons to get their hair coated in a fat-based gel before getting embalmed and entombed. Recent exhumations at a community cemetery dating back 3,000 years bear this out. (via New Scientist)
