The Final Funtier: 200 Paper Planes Launched Into SpaceThursday, January 27, 2011 08:18 AM
To prove something or other or just for fun, a group of guys in a barn in Germany decided to launch 200 paper planes made of "foam and glue and gaffer tape" and affixed with plastic memory cards containing messages from the internet 20 miles into space in a weather balloon. "Tracking stuff allows us to find a thing when it comes down on its parachute," said the head guy. "We'll be tearing around the German countryside in a Land Rover with antennas and things that beep." Obviously the experiment was very scientific. So let's watch the video and see how it went, shall we?
