The Flex at the Plex: The Muhammad Ali - Mickey Ward Match That Never WasMonday, December 20, 2010 11:44 AM
This would be genius if it weren't so hilarious, or as Carrie Fisher has said about her life, "If it weren't funny, it would just be true." Damon Feldman, CEO of Hollywood Boxing Federation, once known as the Celebrity Boxing Federation, is offering $1 million each to Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg if they agree to box each other in a match on February 26 in Las Vegas. "Both guys have trained with professional boxers," notes Feldman. "Will Smith played Muhammad Ali in Ali and was phenomenal. Wahlberg is currently playing Mickey Ward in The Fighter. Come on, I really think that this would be a huge event and great way for them to donate to their favorite charities." Guilt much? All he's asking is that the actors fight three one-minute rounds. He doesn't mean for the two to "rip each others heads off. We're just hoping they get into the ring and have a little fun duking it out." (via Radar)
