One More Try on Don't Ask Don't Tell?Thursday, November 18, 2010 05:02 AM
Could it be that the Democrats and the White House have finally gotten the hint? If so, it's better late than never. After near constant foot dragging, back tracking, and on-going court defenses by the Obama administration to uphold Don’t Ask Don’t Tell; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid committed last night to a full vote during the lame-duck congressional session to repeal DADT. The White House also seems ready at last for some serious involvement. Joining Reid's senior counsel and chief of staff for a meeting on the repeal vote were Deputy White House Chief of Staff Jim Messina, Legislative Affairs Director Phil Schiliro and Brian Bond, deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
