Military Survey - Gay Troops No Big DealFriday, October 29, 2010 05:22 AM
Rachel Maddow and Richard Engle discuss the early findings from the military's survey of troops and their attitudes about openly gay soldiers. Although a minority of soldiers were adamantly against open service, the overall majority of troops felt like is was no big deal. Even the dreaded "shower" question seems to have little effect. And just from personal experience, during my time in the Army when we had to take a group shower we were all so filthy and exhausted from field training that having a hot shower was such a luxury that none of us cared who was looking (and with the exception of basic training and field exercises group showers were very much a rarity).
