Evolve, Or A Revolving Door?Thursday, October 28, 2010 07:33 AM
In what many within the LGBT community are already seeing as blatant pandering before the midterms, President Obama, whose standing within the gay community has steadily dropped since his election, finally sat down and took questions on gay rights from blogger Joe Sudbay. On the question of gay marriage, Obama answered, “I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage,” he said. “But I also think you’re right that attitudes evolve, including mine.” But then he added “I’m not prepared to reverse myself here.” So, “attitudes evolve” huh? Well, I have to say I find it odd that President Obama would use the word “evolve” especially since he was on record as a Illinois Senate candidate as supporting same-sex marriage "unequivocally." But then he changed his position to that of supporting so-called separate but equal civil-unions once he decided to run for president. Now he says that his position is evolving yet again? That is not evolving, that’s a REVOLVING DOOR! President Obama also refused to answer a yes or no question as to whether Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is unconstitutional. And that is yet another strange evasion from someone who was a constitutional law professor. (via The Advocate)

We believe Reality is overrated. We don’t need to see that. But we love to watch.
