Like an unhappy child writing home from camp, Madonna wrote a letter to her photographer friend Steven Meisel from the Chicago set of her movie A League of Their Own, in 1991. In the course of the short missive (letter from home plate?), the apparent misogynist singer had not-nice things to say about girls, sports, Chicago, and actresses. Especially actresses: "I hate actresses, they have nothing on the house of extravaganza." The next year, she and Meisel collaborated on her Sex book. (Read the transcript at Letters of Note)
