Judge Blocks Enforcement of Don't Ask Don't Tell!Tuesday, October 12, 2010 01:33 PM
A federal judge has barred enforcement of the discriminatory "don't ask, don't tell" policy and has instructed the Defense Department to immediately"suspend and discontinue any investigation, or discharge, separation, or other proceeding" related to the policy. Although the injunction is effective immediately, Obama administration attorneys have previously objected in court and may appeal Judge Phillips's ruling to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The case was originally brought by the gay Republican group, The Log Cabin Republicans. (via The Advocate)
