Ice Castles!

James's post on Robby Benson yesterday got me to thinking of the 1978 classic movie, Ice Castles, starring Benson and Lynn-Holly Johnson. The movie is about the rise and fall of a young figure skater, Alexis, who is partially blinded after an accident on the ice but manages to keep her impairment a secret and return to the world of professional figure skating (and reconnect to her one true love, along the way). I was ten years old when the movie came out and I was blown away! It would engender a love of figure skating in me that continues to this day.
